Overview
Step into one of fantasy's most beloved sagas with this complete five-book paperback collection of David Eddings' Belgariad series. Following farm boy Garion as he discovers a destiny bound up with ancient prophecy, sorcery and a world-ending confrontation with the god Torak, this set gathers all five original volumes in their correct reading order. A perfect introduction for new readers and a nostalgic treat for lifelong fans of classic epic fantasy, this collection is brand new and ready to be enjoyed from the very first page.
About the Books
The Belgariad begins with Pawn of Prophecy, introducing Garion, a farm lad raised by his Aunt Pol, unaware that ancient prophecy and sorcery are about to upend his quiet life. In Queen of Sorcery, Garion travels with sorcerers Belgarath and Polgara in pursuit of the stolen Orb of Aldur, as his own hidden powers surface. Magician's Gambit pushes the group closer to a fated meeting with the sleeping god Torak, as Garion wrestles with his growing role in the prophecy. In Castle of Wizardry, the Orb is recovered and carried toward the Great Hall of Riva, pursued by Murgo soldiers and Grolim sorcerers, while Torak stirs in his tomb. The saga concludes in Enchanters' End Game, where thousands of years of prophecy culminate in Garion's fateful duel with Torak, upon which the fate of the entire world depends. Together, the five books form a complete, self-contained epic packed with sorcery, war and a slow-burn coming-of-age story that has captivated fantasy readers since the 1980s.
About the Author
David Eddings (1931-2009) published his first novel, High Hunt, in 1973, before turning to the field of fantasy with the Belgariad, soon followed by the Malloreon. Born in Spokane, Washington, and raised near Seattle, he earned degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington. Before becoming a bestselling novelist, he served in the US Army and worked as a buyer for Boeing, a grocery clerk and a college English teacher. He continued writing fantasy sagas, several co-authored with his wife Leigh, until his death at age 77.
