About the author

This set includes stories by Dewan, who was born in Boston and raised in Lexington, Massachusetts. He is the first son of physicist Dr Edmond M Dewan and scholar/attorney Karen Dean-Smith. Dewan grew up alongside his brother, musician and artist Brian Dewan, and pursued engineering and electronic music at Brown University. He studied with mentor and author/illustrator David Macaulay and later worked for five years as a physics teacher at Milton Academy. That combination of creativity, teaching experience, and storytelling helps make these picture stories approachable and educational.
