Overview
Step into the shadowy, plot-riddled world of Elizabethan England and Reformation Europe with this complete five-book Giordano Bruno collection by S. J. Parris. Following the real-life heretic-turned-spy Giordano Bruno across five gripping historical thrillers, this set combines meticulous period detail with pacy, atmospheric storytelling. Perfect for fans of espionage, conspiracy and Tudor history, it's a must-have bundle for anyone who loves intelligent, immersive crime fiction set against a backdrop of religious and political turmoil.
About the Books
This collection brings together all five novels in S. J. Parris's acclaimed Giordano Bruno series. In Heresy, Bruno is recruited by Queen Elizabeth's spymaster and sent undercover to Oxford to uncover a deadly Catholic plot. Prophecy finds him investigating occult murders as Mary Stuart's supporters conspire against the crown. In Sacrilege, Bruno risks everything to clear the name of a woman he once loved, only to uncover a far darker conspiracy. Treachery sees him travel to Plymouth with Sir Philip Sidney to meet Sir Francis Drake as war with Spain looms, while Conspiracy takes Bruno to Paris in 1585, a city teetering on the edge of catastrophe under a king without an heir. Together, these novels chart Bruno's dangerous double life as philosopher, heretic and reluctant spy, weaving real historical figures and events — Elizabeth I, Walsingham, Drake, the French Wars of Religion — into intricately plotted mysteries. Each book stands alone as a satisfying thriller, but read in sequence they form a rich, continuous saga of espionage, faith and betrayal across 1580s Europe. Fans of C. J. Sansom, Rory Clements and Robert Harris will find much to love in Parris's confident blend of scholarship and suspense.
