Each hardcover in this boxed set follows a major turning point in Elric’s tragic saga. These volumes are perfect for readers who appreciate atmospheric worldbuilding, morally ambiguous protagonists, and mythic stakes.
Elric, the albino emperor, has ruled Melniboné for millennia thanks to sorcery and life-extending herbs. But his empire begins to crumble as the envious prince Yyrkoon schemes for the Ruby Throne. When a pirate threat forces Elric to act, he risks revealing his allegiance to Arioch — the most dominant of the Lords of Chaos — and paying a price that will change him forever.
After his people are massacred and he is cast out, Elric encounters Stormbringer — the legendary, bloodthirsty demon-sword. This weapon sustains him, shapes his destiny, and becomes central to the violent, tragic path he cannot escape.
A year after leaving Imrryr and his heartbroken Cymoril, Elric walks the Young Kingdoms as the White Wolf. No longer an emperor, he sells his skills as a sorcerer and warrior while the legend of his Black Sword grows, attracting foes and fortune in equal measure.
Exiled and bound to Arioch, Elric wanders the Young Kingdoms with Stormbringer at his side. As he travels, an unexpected presence from his past searches for him — but is her return an attempt to rekindle love or to plunge him further into darkness?
