About the Author:
Born in The Shire in the mid 1950's, Peter trained as a teacher in the late 1970's and taught in primary schools for twenty years, before concentrating on writing full time since 2001. He has published four volumes of poetry - "Six Nines" (2009), "Head Full of Whispers" (2012), "Straightening My Tie" (2015) and "While I Wasn't Looking" (2017). His poems have appeared in various anthologies, including those of the Newcastle Poets at the Pub; on various websites including the Black Dog Institute and the ABC; and on the walls of the New England Regional Art Museum with a Brett Whiteley self-portrait (2014) and the SCG Museum with Doug Walters Test cap (2014). During 2013-14 he was one of Australian Poetry's Café Poets, based in Tamworth. In 2019, he was one of 18 writers commissioned to write for Art, Word, Place, an exhibition of artists responding to writers work, which toured, Canberra, Sydney and regional centres. In 2021, two of his one-act plays will be performed by the Armidale Dramatic and Musical Society.
