Overview
Step back into 1930s England with Justice Jones, the fearless boarding-school super-sleuth who refuses to let a mystery go unsolved. This brand-new paperback box set brings together the first three thrilling adventures in Elly Griffiths' bestselling A Girl Called Justice series, following Justice from her very first murder investigation at Highbury House through smugglers' coves and haunted gardens. Atmospheric, clever and packed with clues, this is historical mystery fiction that young readers devour in a single sitting.
About the Books
In A Girl Called Justice, Justice's mother has died and her barrister father, too busy with his murder trials to raise her alone, sends her to Highbury House Boarding School for the Daughters of Gentlefolk. Homesick and suspicious of the strange goings-on around her, Justice uncovers a mystery involving a missing maid that no one else will investigate. In The Smugglers' Secret, Justice returns for the spring term only to find murder back on her mind once again. Tasked with keeping an eye on the elderly Mr Arthur at Smugglers' Lodge across the marshes, she stumbles upon a web of secrets tied to smugglers working the nearby coastline. Finally, in The Ghost in the Garden, Justice and her friends are now third years, and an intriguing new girl named Letitia arrives at Barnowls, unfamiliar with school life and unbothered by the rules. As strange happenings unfold in the gardens, Justice's detective instincts are tested once more. Told with warmth and genuine period detail, each book combines boarding-school charm with proper page-turning mystery.
