About the Books
This complete collection gathers all eight novels in Montgomery's Anne series in one uniform paperback edition. It opens with Anne Of Green Gables, in which eleven-year-old Anne arrives at Green Gables farm by mistake and wins over the community with her imagination and spirit. Anne Of Avonlea and Anne Of The Island follow her teaching years and college life, while Anne Of Windy Poplars sees her take a headship far from home. Anne's House Of Dreams and Anne Of Ingleside chart her marriage to Gilbert Blythe and the joys of raising a large family. Rainbow Valley turns to the next generation of Blythe and Meredith children, and the set closes with Rilla Of Ingleside, in which Anne's youngest daughter comes of age during the First World War. Together, these eight novels form one of the most cherished coming-of-age sagas in children's literature, rewarding readers who follow Anne from childhood through to grandmotherhood.

About the Author
L. M. Montgomery (1874–1942) was a Canadian author born on Prince Edward Island, the setting that inspired the world of Avonlea. Raised largely by her grandparents after the early loss of her mother, Montgomery drew on her own childhood imagination and love of nature to create Anne Shirley. Anne Of Green Gables, published in 1908, became an immediate bestseller and has since been translated into dozens of languages. Montgomery went on to write numerous further Anne novels and short stories, cementing her place as one of the most beloved children's authors of the twentieth century.
