About the Book
Richard F. Burton's translation of The Arabian Nights breathes vivid life into an enchanting collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian folk tales, brimming with adventure, mystery, and magic. At the heart of the collection is Scheherazade, the clever storyteller who spins a new tale each night to delay her execution at the hands of a vengeful king, weaving together legends, fables, and folk traditions that have captivated readers for centuries. Among the tales are enduring favourites featuring genies, hidden treasures, and cunning heroes and heroines, alongside lesser-known stories revealing the richness of the original storytelling traditions.
