Overview
Auggie & Me returns to the world of the beloved bestseller Wonder, retelling pivotal moments from three unforgettable side characters. Told through the eyes of Julian, Christopher and Charlotte, these interlinked stories deepen the emotional world Auggie Pullman inhabits, exploring courage, guilt, friendship and change. Fans of Wonder will treasure this companion volume, which stands beautifully on its own while enriching the original story with fresh perspective and heart.
About the Book
Auggie & Me: Three Wonder Stories brings together three short novels that expand the universe of R. J. Palacio's phenomenon Wonder. Each story is narrated by a different character orbiting Auggie's world: Julian, the boy who bullied Auggie and whose own struggles are laid bare; Christopher, Auggie's oldest and most loyal childhood friend, wrestling with distance and loyalty; and Charlotte, a classmate quietly navigating her own place within the group. Rather than simply retelling Wonder from new angles, these stories stand as complete, moving narratives in their own right, each shining a light on the ripple effects of kindness, cruelty and courage. Palacio's trademark warmth and honesty are on full display, as she resists easy answers and instead lets her young narrators grapple with real, complicated emotions. Themes of empathy, bullying, family pressure and self-acceptance run throughout, echoing the message that made Wonder a global phenomenon: choose kind. Written in accessible, engaging prose perfect for middle-grade readers, the book works equally well for those who have already read Wonder and for newcomers discovering this world for the first time. It has become a favourite for parents, teachers and reading groups looking to spark conversations about empathy and inclusion in the classroom and at home.
