Overview
This three-book collection brings together B.K.S. Iyengar's most influential works in one set: the foundational asana manual Light on Yoga, the breath-focused Light on Pranayama, and the reflective Light on Life. Together they cover posture, breathing, and philosophy, making this an ideal starting point or reference library for students, teachers, and anyone wanting a deeper, more informed yoga practice.
About the Books
Each title in this set addresses a different pillar of yoga practice. Light on Yoga is widely regarded as one of the most detailed asana manuals ever written, offering step-by-step postures, alignment cues, and sequencing that have guided generations of students and teachers since its first publication. Light on Pranayama turns to the breath, presenting Iyengar's approach to breath control with structured exercises, sequencing guidance, and safety considerations for students moving beyond basic asana work. Light on Life takes a broader view, weaving together decades of teaching experience with reflections on the relationship between body, mind, and spirit, and showing how yoga philosophy can be applied to everyday living rather than treated as a purely physical discipline. Read individually or as a set, the three volumes complement one another: physical technique, breathwork, and philosophy combine to give a rounded picture of Iyengar's teaching. These are reference books many practitioners return to throughout their yoga journey, whether preparing for teacher training, deepening a home practice, or simply wanting to understand the tradition behind the postures. The paperback format makes the set practical for shelf reference, studio libraries, or travel to workshops and retreats.
