Overview:
Step into the gently wicked world of Champton village with the Canon Clement Mysteries, a three-book hardback collection by broadcaster and Anglican priest the Reverend Richard Coles. Following amateur sleuth Canon Daniel Clement as he juggles parish politics, an opinionated mother, and a run of inconvenient murders, this series has become a Sunday Times number one bestseller. Warm, witty and quintessentially English, it's perfect for readers who enjoy cosy crime with heart and a genuinely clever puzzle.

About the Books:
The series opens with Murder Before Evensong, in which Canon Daniel Clement's modest proposal to install a lavatory in St Mary's church reopens old wounds and uncovers a murderer among his own parishioners, set in the fictional village of Champton. In A Death in the Parish, Daniel faces a forced merger with neighbouring parishes just as his formidable mother Audrey becomes entangled in a mystery of her own, and church politics collide with a fresh body count. The trilogy concludes with Murder at the Monastery, sending Daniel away from Champton to a supposedly tranquil monastic retreat that quickly proves anything but peaceful once a suspicious death disturbs the silence. Across all three novels, Coles draws on his experience as a working clergyman to render English parish life with affection and sharp comic timing. Fans of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and Midsomer Murders will feel instantly at home.

About the Author:
The Reverend Richard Coles is a musician, broadcaster, podcaster and Anglican priest. After an unlikely stint as an 80s pop star with The Communards, he co-presented Saturday Live on BBC Radio 4 for twelve years and has appeared on QI, Have I Got News For You and Strictly Come Dancing, reaching the final of I'm A Celebrity in 2024. He read Theology at King's College London and worked as a curate in Lincolnshire, London and Northamptonshire before turning to fiction, and is now the author of the number one bestselling Canon Clement Mysteries.

Why You'll Love This Collection:
Three deliciously cosy, cleverly plotted mysteries set in one endlessly entertaining English village, written with genuine clerical insight and a wickedly dry sense of humour.
