Overview
Step into the quietly unsettling world of Oxford crime fiction with this brand new paperback bundle containing all six Sunday Times bestselling DI Adam Fawley novels by Cara Hunter. From a vanished child at a family party to a case reopening an old miscarriage of justice, the series follows Fawley and his team as they peel back the respectable surface of suburban life. A gripping, character-led saga for crime fans, book clubs and gift buyers wanting a complete set to binge.
About the Books
The set opens with Close to Home, the series debut, in which eight-year-old Daisy Mason disappears from her own birthday party while neighbours insist they saw nothing unusual. In the Dark follows, as officers discover a woman and a young boy locked in a basement with no record of either ever being reported missing. No Way Out places Fawley at a house fire that leaves two children fighting for life just before Christmas. All the Rage introduces a teenage girl's harrowing account of abduction, echoing an earlier, unresolved case. In The Whole Truth, an Oxford student's allegation against her professor drags the team into questions of memory and reputation. The collection closes with Hope to Die, where a fresh murder forces Fawley to revisit a years-old conviction. Across all six novels, Hunter weaves transcripts, interview notes and news reports alongside traditional narrative, giving readers the sensation of assembling each case themselves.
About the Author
Cara Hunter is the pen name of a novelist who lives in Oxford, on a street not unlike those that feature throughout her books. She studied for a degree and PhD in English Literature at Oxford University before turning to crime writing, drawing inspiration from acclaimed television drama. Her debut, Close to Home, was published in 2017 and was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick shortlisted for Crime Book of the Year. The DI Fawley series has since sold millions of copies worldwide, with television rights acquired by the Fremantle group.
