Overview:
This four-book set gathers Adrian Tchaikovsky's celebrated Children of Time saga: Children of Time, Children of Ruin, Children of Memory and Children of Strife. Spanning collapsed empires, terraformed worlds and uploaded minds, the sequence follows humanity's last survivors as they collide with radically different forms of intelligence across deep time. Award-winning and widely praised for its ambitious scope, the series rewards readers who enjoy hard science fiction built on evolution, first contact and civilisation-building among the stars.

About the Book(s):
Children of Time follows the last human survivors as they reach a planet terraformed for life, only to find it already home to an uplifted spider civilisation shaped by an experiment gone awry, setting up a tense contest over who inherits the world. Children of Ruin sends a mixed human-and-spider expedition to the ocean world of Nod, where they awaken a long-dormant alien intelligence and reckon with an earlier terraforming project gone badly wrong. Children of Memory moves to the fragile colony of Imir, where failing crops and half-remembered histories suggest something from the old terraforming programs never really left. Children of Strife, the newest addition to the sequence, reunites surviving crew across a fresh ark-ship mystery, bringing first contact and the nature of intelligence back into focus. Read in order, the four books build one continuous story of evolution, inheritance and the strange forms life can take when given enough time and enough worlds.

Key Benefits:

  • Collects all four novels currently published in the acclaimed Children of Time sequence
  • Explores first contact, uplift and evolved intelligence from multiple non-human perspectives
  • Award-winning space opera praised for scientific grounding and ambitious scale
  • Ideal for readers of Ann Leckie, Becky Chambers or classic hard sci-fi epics
  • A satisfying way to own the full run of the series as it stands, ready to read in sequence

About the Author:
Adrian Tchaikovsky was born in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, and studied psychology and zoology at the University of Reading. He worked for years as a legal executive before becoming a full-time writer, and now lives in Leeds. His grounding in zoology and behavioural science informs the inventive non-human perspectives running throughout his fiction, from uplifted spiders to alien intelligences. He has won major genre awards, including the Arthur C. Clarke Award, and is one of the most prolific, acclaimed British science fiction and fantasy writers working today.

Why You'll Love This Set:
Own the Children of Time saga in one place and follow humanity's scattered future across generations, terraformed worlds and evolving minds - a must-have set for serious science fiction readers.
