Overview
Discover three of the most acclaimed novels in contemporary literary fiction, collected together in one brand-new paperback set. Written by award-winning Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, this collection brings together Purple Hibiscus, Americanah, and Half of a Yellow Sun — powerful, moving stories exploring family, identity, love, war, and the immigrant experience. Perfect for book clubs, literary fiction fans, or anyone building a thoughtful home library, this three-book set showcases the full breadth of Adichie's storytelling gift in one beautifully packaged paperback collection, ready to gift or keep.
About the Books
Purple Hibiscus, Adichie's celebrated debut, follows fifteen-year-old Kambili, whose sheltered life inside her family's high-walled compound is dictated by her wealthy, fanatically religious father. A stay with her aunt exposes Kambili to laughter and a life beyond her father's control, and she begins finding her own voice amid political turmoil. It remains a modern classic of coming-of-age fiction.
Americanah follows Ifemelu and Obinze, who fall in love as teenagers in military-era Lagos before their paths diverge across continents. Ifemelu builds a new life in America, confronting race and identity, while Obinze remains behind as Nigeria changes. Their eventual reunion forces both to reckon with love, ambition, and what "home" truly means. It is widely regarded as one of the defining novels of its time.
Half of a Yellow Sun is set against the devastating Nigerian Civil War. Ugwu, a houseboy; Olanna, a woman who abandons privilege for love; and Richard, an Englishman drawn into the turmoil, have their lives intertwined as the nation fractures. Sweeping yet intimate, it won the Women's Prize for Fiction and remains a vital account of postcolonial Africa.
About the Author
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was born in Nigeria in 1977. Her debut, Purple Hibiscus, was longlisted for the Booker Prize, while Half of a Yellow Sun won the Orange Prize for Fiction. Americanah won the National Book Critics Circle Award and has been translated into more than fifty-five languages. A recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, Adichie is celebrated as one of contemporary fiction's most important voices, dividing her time between Nigeria and the United States.
