Overview
Step into the smog-choked streets of Beijing with Peter May's gripping China Thrillers, a six-book crime series pairing Detective Li Yan with American forensic pathologist Margaret Campbell. Blending forensic science, political intrigue and a slow-burn romance, these bestselling novels take readers from Beijing's back alleys to international conspiracies. This brand-new boxed paperback set is the perfect way to collect the entire acclaimed series in one go, ideal for crime fiction fans and gift-buyers alike.
About the Books
The China Thrillers begin with The Firemaker, in which Li Yan and Margaret Campbell are drawn into a case that ignites a volatile partnership and uncovers a conspiracy far greater than either expected. The Fourth Sacrifice reunites the pair as they edge closer to a killer willing to use extreme violence to protect a devastating truth. In The Killing Room, Li, Campbell and colleague Mei Ling confront a chilling nemesis that forces each of them to face their worst nightmares. Snakehead widens the scope internationally, linking human traffickers, politicians and migrants across Beijing, Washington and Texas in a race against a biological time bomb. The Runner ramps up the tension around the Beijing Olympics, as a vanished contact sets off a desperate pursuit that pushes Li to his limits. The series closes with Chinese Whispers, a dark and personal confrontation as a killer sets out to destroy Li and Campbell's lives and write the bloodiest chapter in Beijing's history. Together, the six novels form a tightly plotted, atmospheric crime saga praised for its authentic Chinese settings, forensic detail and compelling central relationship, making this collection an essential read for fans of international crime fiction.
