About the Author
Gerald Durrell was born in India in 1925 and moved to Corfu with his family as a boy, where he developed his lifelong fascination with animals and the natural world. He went on to become a renowned naturalist, conservationist, zookeeper, and television presenter, founding Jersey Zoo in 1959 and the Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust in 1963. He was awarded the OBE in 1982 and wrote thirty-seven books over his lifetime, including this beloved Corfu trilogy. Durrell died in 1995, leaving behind a legacy of conservation and storytelling still cherished today.
