Overview:
Escape to the honey-stone villages of Gloucestershire with this seven-book Cotswold Mystery collection from cosy crime favourite Rebecca Tope. Following house-sitter Thea Osborne and her faithful spaniel Hepzibah, each story blends gentle rural charm with a genuinely gripping whodunit. Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie-style village mysteries, this brand-new paperback set delivers hours of atmospheric, character-driven reading. Whether you're already hooked on the Cotswold Mysteries or discovering Thea Osborne for the first time, this collection is a wonderful way to enjoy the series back to back, and makes a thoughtful gift for any cosy crime enthusiast who loves puzzles wrapped in beautiful English countryside settings.
About the Books:
Each novel sees Thea Osborne take on a new house-sitting assignment in a different Cotswold village, and each time she is drawn into an unexpected mystery. In Deception in the Cotswolds, Thea arrives in the secluded village of Cranham hoping for a quiet break, only to uncover hidden secrets among the locals. Slaughter in the Cotswolds finds her house-sitting in Lower Slaughter while grieving her father, and death follows close behind. A Grave in the Cotswolds sees Thea and Hepzibah continue house-sitting despite a string of disastrous past incidents. Revenge in the Cotswolds builds a plot on old grudges and simmering vengeance, showcasing Tope's skill at slow-burn tension. Fear in the Cotswolds is set during an isolated, snowbound winter month, one of the darker entries in the series. Crisis in the Cotswolds explores domestic unrest and marital strain. Finally, A Cotswold Mystery brings Thea's daughter Jessica into the story, uncovering a body in Blockley and testing Thea's relationship with DI Phil Hollis. Together, the seven novels combine witty dialogue, believable characters, and the enduring appeal of English village life turned upside down by crime.
