Meet the world's most mischievous monkey in this seven-book paperback collection! Curious George gets into scrapes wherever he goes - a museum, a fire station, a library, a chocolate factory. A lovely set for bedtime, journeys or a growing home library.
About the Books
This charming set follows Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat through everyday outings that end in happy chaos. In Curious George and the Dinosaur, a museum trip turns exciting when George climbs a dinosaur skeleton. In Curious George and the Fire-fighters, a fire station visit introduces George to a company of unsuspecting fire-fighters. Curious George Visits the Library sees him load a trolley with far too many books, sending it crashing down the aisle, while Curious George and the Birthday Surprise follows him as he tries to guess whose birthday is being celebrated. Curious George Visits a Toy Shop takes him to a new shop filled with hula hoops, balls and puppets he cannot resist. In Curious George Catches a Train, a station trip ends with George saving a boy who nearly falls onto the tracks. Finally, Curious George Goes to a Chocolate Factory finds George wandering off from a factory tour to see how chocolate is made. Each story uses short sentences and plenty of illustration, ideal for shared or early independent reading.
About the Author
Margret Rey (1906-1996), with her husband H. A. Rey, created the beloved Curious George series, first published in 1941. Born in Germany, Margret trained as an artist before the couple fled Europe by bicycle in 1940, carrying the Curious George manuscript to safety. Settling in America, the Reys wrote and illustrated the original stories, which have sold more than 25 million copies worldwide and inspired films, television shows and further storybooks like this collection.
