About the Books
This charming collection brings together ten complete Curious George picture books, each a self-contained adventure following George and the Man with the Yellow Hat. Whether he's exploring a zoo where animals roam free, enjoying his very first library visit, or causing chaos at a toy shop opening, George's curiosity always leads him somewhere unexpected. Along the way he catches a train, visits a chocolate factory, helps at a fire station, and becomes a special helper on his first day of school. Each story carries the same warmth and gentle comedy that has made Curious George beloved since he first appeared in print. Simple text and classic illustrations suit shared reading with younger children, while older readers enjoy George's antics independently. Themes of friendship, curiosity, and everyday firsts offer conversation starters for parents. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to a timeless series, with a fresh story always ready for bedtime or a car journey.
About the Authors
Margret Rey (1906–1996) and H. A. Rey (1898–1977) were a husband-and-wife team who created Curious George after meeting in their native Hamburg and marrying in Brazil. The couple fled Paris by bicycle just ahead of the German invasion in 1940, carrying the original George manuscript. Settling in the United States, they published numerous Curious George books together, with H. A. Rey providing the illustrations. Their creation is now one of the most enduring characters in children's literature, translated into dozens of languages worldwide.
