Overview
Escape to the Somerset coast with this paperback set gathering all six novels from Frances Evesham's Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries, Volumes 1 to 3, across three books. Follow amateur sleuth Libby Forest as she trades city life for cake baking and an ever-growing string of local murders. Warm, witty and gently addictive, this is cosy crime at its most comforting, perfect for fans of village mysteries, quirky detectives and seaside settings wanting six stories in one bundle.
About the Books
This three-book set brings together the first six instalments of Frances Evesham's cosy crime series. In Murder At the Lighthouse, widowed Libby Forest arrives in Exham-on-Sea hoping for a quiet start, only to discover a body beneath the town's lighthouse. In Murder on the Levels, poisoned bakery customers threaten Libby's fledgling business. Murder on the Tor sends Libby into the mist-wrapped mysteries of Glastonbury. Murder at the Cathedral sees Libby's closest friend accused of murder inside Wells Cathedral Library. Murder at the Bridge follows a country wedding turned sinister on Exmoor, while Murder at the Castle closes the set with tragedy at Dunster Castle's History Society. Throughout, Libby is joined by the enigmatic Max Ramshore and his sheepdog Bear, as the pair unravel deception across Exham-on-Sea and the Somerset countryside. Evesham's storytelling blends gentle humour, well-observed characters and satisfying puzzles, never straying into graphic violence, making these ideal comfort reads for cosy crime fans and book clubs. Collected in three good-value paperback volumes, this set is a wonderful way to enjoy the early Exham-on-Sea series in order, from Libby's first case through to her sixth.
About the Author
Frances Evesham found inspiration for her cosy crime series while walking on a Somerset beach and stumbling upon a unique nine-legged Victorian lighthouse, sparking her debut, Murder at the Lighthouse. She now writes the Exham-on-Sea and Ham Hill Murder Mysteries, set amid Somerset landscapes she clearly adores. Before fiction, Frances worked as a speech therapist and a road sweeper, and spent time within the criminal courts, observing cases from every angle. She also has an interest in accessible fiction, producing an easy-read title for dyslexic children.
Why You'll Love This Series
Charming characters, a gorgeous Somerset setting and gentle, twisty plotting make this collection irresistible for cosy crime lovers seeking cheerful, satisfying reads with heart, humour and a very good dog.
