Overview
The General Povin Trilogy brings together three classic Cold War espionage novels by John Trenhaile in one great-value paperback set. Following KGB agent Ivan Bucharensky, codename Kyril, and the enigmatic general Stepan Povin, these interlinked thrillers plunge readers into the shadowy world of Soviet intelligence, double agents and betrayal. Praised as a worthy successor to John le Carré, Trenhaile's trilogy remains gripping reading for fans of atmospheric spy fiction, making this collection the perfect way to enjoy the full story arc from start to finish.

About the Books
The Man Called Kyril opens the trilogy at the height of the Cold War: a double agent is leaking Soviet secrets from the heart of Moscow, and the ageing KGB director turns to his own agent, Ivan Bucharensky - codename Kyril - to smoke the traitor out. Posing as a defector, Kyril is hunted by East and West alike, unsure who he can trust as the deadliest game of his career unfolds across Europe.

A View from the Square continues the story through Stepan Povin, the KGB's chief of foreign intelligence and one of the West's most valuable secret sources. After years passing intelligence to London, Povin wants out - and seeks asylum with an explosive piece of information: the Soviets are closing in on a top-secret American spy plane, a secret America may risk nuclear war to protect.

Nocturne for the General completes the trilogy in a bleak Soviet prison camp near Murmansk, where a disgraced former KGB general - identified only by a number - is kept alive for the secret he still refuses to reveal. As British Intelligence closes in on the truth, the final, devastating link in the chain is exposed.
