Overview
The Gods and Warriors Collection gathers all five thrilling instalments of Michelle Paver's Bronze Age epic in one paperback set. Following the orphaned boy Hylas across Ancient Greece, Egypt and beyond, these action-packed adventures blend real history with gripping mythic fantasy. Perfect for readers aged 9-12 who love quests, hidden gods and unforgettable friendships, this complete set offers hours of immersive storytelling and makes an ideal gift, classroom set, or addition to any young reader's shelf.
About the Books
Each of the five novels follows Hylas, a resourceful boy who discovers that the gods are real, that magic is dangerous, and that powerful enemies will stop at nothing to hunt him down. In The Outsiders, Hylas flees across hostile mountains and treacherous seas in search of his missing sister, aided only by a runaway girl and a wild dolphin. The Burning Shadow sees him captured and forced into the mines, battling the sinister Crows alongside an orphaned lion cub. In The Eye of the Falcon, a volcanic eruption plunges the world into winter, and Hylas must cross to Keftiu to find his friends Pirra and Havoc amid famine and plague. The Crocodile Tomb takes the story to Egypt, where Hylas and Pirra must brave the realms of death itself to recover the legendary dagger of Koronos before their enemy Telamon can claim it. Finally, Warrior Bronze brings the saga to its dramatic conclusion back in Akea, as old and new allies unite for a final stand against the brutal Crows. Rich in historical detail and researched first-hand by the author, the series is a favourite among fans of myth-infused adventure fiction and has been widely praised for bringing the Bronze Age vividly to life.
