Overview
Escape to sun-baked Sicily with this addictive eight-book collection of the Inspector Montalbano mysteries by Andrea Camilleri. Covering books eleven to eighteen of the internationally bestselling series, this set follows food-loving detective Salvo Montalbano as he unravels murders, disappearances and conspiracies against a backdrop of Vigàta's sun-drenched streets, corrupt bureaucracy and dark Sicilian humour. Ideal for crime fans and existing readers ready to continue the story, this collection offers hours of gripping, wryly funny reading in one great-value paperback bundle.
About the Books
This collection gathers the second run of Camilleri's celebrated series, beginning with The Wings of the Sphinx, in which a young woman's death leads Montalbano into a case of trafficking. The Track of Sand opens with a butchered horse on the beach outside his home, unravelling deceit. The Potter's Field, winner of the CWA International Dagger Award, sees a dismembered body drag him into a Mafia turf war. The Age of Doubt finds him questioning his instincts after a chance harbour encounter spirals into stolen identity and murder. The Dance of the Seagull begins with a missing colleague and a dying gull, leading to a smuggling case. The Treasure Hunt pits Montalbano against elderly fanatics staging a sinister game across town. Angelica's Smile sees him professionally and personally undone by a beguiling young woman linked to a string of burglaries. Finally, Game of Mirrors closes the set with a maze of deception, car bombs and hidden motives. Together, these eight instalments showcase Camilleri's trademark blend of intricate plotting, Sicilian atmosphere, culinary detail and dry wit that has made Montalbano one of modern crime fiction's most beloved detectives.
