Packed with practical charts, diagrams, and specification guidance, it distils the entire interior design workflow into one accessible paperback. Whether you're drafting a proposal, selecting finishes, or preparing a client presentation, this brand new edition delivers trusted, industry-standard information in a portable format built for daily studio and site use.

About the Book
Written by architects and educators Chris Grimley and Mimi Love, this updated and revised edition organises the interior design process into clear, focused chapters that mirror real project workflows. It opens with the Fundamentals of professional practice, covering scope of services, scheduling, and presentation tools, before moving into Space, which addresses spatial composition alongside accessibility and life-safety requirements. The Surface chapter explores colour, material, texture, and pattern selection with an eye on performance and maintenance, while Environments examines lighting, sound, and atmosphere in shaping a room's character. The Elements chapter covers furniture, fixtures, artwork, and accessory specification, and a final Resources section gathers sustainability guidance and research sources. New to this edition are interviews with leading practitioners from across the interior design field, offering real-world perspective alongside the reference material. At 288 pages, the book balances depth with portability, making it equally useful in a studio, on a job site, or in a classroom setting. It has become a widely recommended text for design programmes and a dependable desk reference for working professionals who need quick, accurate answers without wading through lengthy textbooks.
