Overview
Step into 1920s Yorkshire with the Kate Shackleton Mysteries 6 Books Collection Set by Frances Brody. This brand-new paperback bundle gathers six cosy crime novels following amateur sleuth Kate Shackleton as she unravels murders and long-buried secrets across the county's mills, moors and grand estates. Perfect for fans of classic British detective fiction and anyone building a complete crime collection, this set delivers clever plotting, warm characterisation and a resourceful heroine readers keep returning to, book after book.
About the Books
The series opens with Dying In The Wool, where quiet Bridgestead hides a mill owner's disappearance Kate must solve before a family wedding. A Medal For Murder sends Kate to Harrogate after a pawn-shop robbery turns sinister, drawing her into a theatre troupe and a body in a doorway. Murder In The Afternoon sees young Harriet and her brother turn to Kate when their father is found dead beside a quarry, only for his body to vanish. In A Woman Unknown, a suspicious husband hires Kate to trail his secretive wife, whose absences collide with murder at a Leeds hotel. Murder on a Summer's Day sends Kate to Bolton Abbey to trace a missing Maharajah and a priceless diamond. Finally, Death of an Avid Reader draws Kate into the Leeds Library, where a search for a long-lost daughter uncovers old scandal and fresh murder. Across all six novels, Brody combines meticulous period detail with tightly woven plots for an immersive whodunit experience.
