Overview
Step deep into the morgue, the crime lab and the darkest corners of the human mind with this gripping five-book Kay Scarpetta collection from bestselling author Patricia Cornwell. Covering titles 11-15 in the series - The Last Precinct, Blow Fly, Trace, Predator and Book of the Dead - this set follows forensic pathologist Dr Kay Scarpetta through some of her most perilous investigations, as she rebuilds her career and safety while hunting killers who leave chilling trails of evidence.

About the Books
This collection opens as Scarpetta's world is upended. In The Last Precinct, scarred by her encounter with killer Chandonne, she takes refuge with a friend only to find a Grand Jury investigation looming over her. Blow Fly finds her resigned as Virginia's Chief Medical Examiner, quietly rebuilding a private life in Florida as a forensic consultant. In Trace, against her better judgement, she is drawn back to Virginia, proving why the Scarpetta novels have never been bettered since Postmortem first won five major awards. Predator sees Florida crawling with human predators, giving Scarpetta the chance to do what she does best - letting the dead speak - while Benton Wesley works a secretive case in Boston. Finally, Book of the Dead gives darker meaning to the morgue log for which it's named, as a fresh start after her brutal Florida ordeal proves anything but simple. Across all five novels, Cornwell combines meticulous forensic detail with escalating psychological tension, delivering the authenticity and depth that made the Scarpetta series a genre-defining phenomenon.
