Overview
Meet Kipper, the small floppy-eared dog who has delighted toddlers for over three decades. This charming 10-book paperback collection gathers ten of Mick Inkpen's best-loved Kipper stories into one gift-ready set, covering birthdays, beach days, snowy afternoons and cosy camping trips. Perfect for bedtime reading or early independent reading practice, this collection brings Kipper's warm, gentle world to any young reader's bookshelf, making it an ideal introduction to picture books for pre-schoolers and reception-age children.
About the Books
Each story follows Kipper and his best friend Tiger through small, everyday adventures that feel enormous through a child's eyes. In Kipper, our hero decides his old basket won't do and sets off to find somewhere new to sleep. Kipper's Birthday sees him prepare invitations and bake a cake, while Kipper's Beach Ball finds treasure hidden in a cornflakes box. Hide Me, Kipper introduces a squeaky mouse hiding in a clever fold-out page, and in Kipper's New Pet, Kipper buys his friend Pig a hamster called Roly. One Year With Kipper follows the seasons through Kipper's new camera, while Kipper's Toybox becomes a gentle mystery about a nibbled hole. Kipper's Snowy Day captures the joy of the first snowfall, Kipper's Little Friends playfully explores baby animal names, and Kipper's Monster follows Kipper and Tiger camping, learning that noises in the dark aren't always as scary as they seem. Together, these stories combine gentle humour, reassuring themes and Inkpen's soft illustrations to create a modern classic of British children's picture books.
