About the Author
Melanie Porter is a graduate of Central Saint Martin's College in London who spent ten years working as a knitwear designer for international fashion brands before turning her expertise to furniture and interiors in 2008. She creates one-off contemporary designs using antiques sourced at auctions and markets, each piece painstakingly stripped back and restored using hand-knitted panels. Her exquisite, textured fabrics have drawn attention from clients and press worldwide, with her work sold at Lane Crawford in Hong Kong and Wolf & Badger in London. She is also the author of Hand-Knit Your Home and The Hand-Knitted Nursery, both published by CICO Books, and lives in London.
