Overview
The Luke Carlton Series 3 Books Collection Set gathers Frank Gardner's bestselling espionage trilogy — Crisis, Ultimatum and Outbreak — in one brand new paperback bundle. Written by the BBC's own Security Correspondent, these thrillers follow ex-SBS commando turned SIS operative Luke Carlton as he confronts drug cartels, nuclear plots and bio-terror threats. Authentic tradecraft and real-world credibility make this set essential reading for thriller fans and a standout gift.

About the Books
Crisis introduces Luke Carlton on a mission into the Colombian jungle to investigate the murder of a British intelligence officer, only to be captured and tortured by a ruthless drugs cartel plotting an atrocity against London. Ultimatum raises the stakes as a renegade cell within Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps pushes for nuclear dominance in the Middle East; when a secret rendezvous goes catastrophically wrong, Carlton is thrust into a dangerous geopolitical gambit. Outbreak opens deep within the Arctic Circle, where researchers discover a scene of biological contamination, forcing Carlton to race against a deadly, spreading pathogen with echoes of real-world bio-security nightmares. Across all three novels, Gardner draws on decades of frontline reporting and insider access to intelligence and security services, lending every page a rare sense of authenticity. Reviewers have praised the trilogy for combining cinematic action with plausible, well-researched detail. Each book is a bestseller in its own right, with Crisis a No.1 Sunday Times bestseller and both Ultimatum and Outbreak following it into the top ten — together forming a satisfying arc of contemporary spy fiction, ideal for extended reading or as a gift.
