About the Author
Alan Rickman (1946–2016) was a celebrated British actor and director, renowned for his roles in Die Hard, the Harry Potter series, Sense & Sensibility, Love Actually and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, as well as his extensive stage career with the Royal Shakespeare Company. The diaries were edited for publication by writer and journalist Alan Taylor, a long-standing friend of Rickman's, who worked closely with the actor's estate to bring the entries to print with sensitivity and care.
