Overview
Make Brilliant Work is Rod Judkins' inspiring follow-up to his international bestseller The Art of Creative Thinking. Drawing on the real-life stories of visionaries from Frida Kahlo to Steve Jobs, this paperback guide reveals the methods and mindsets that turn ordinary effort into extraordinary results. Judkins proves that talent alone never guaranteed success — persistence, risk-taking and original thinking did. A motivating read for anyone wanting to unlock their creative potential at work or in life.
About the Book
How do we judge our work? It's good, it's bad, or it's brilliant. Make Brilliant Work: Lessons on Creativity, Innovation and Success is built around one reassuring truth: you don't have to be naturally brilliant to produce brilliant work. Many of the figures profiled in these pages failed at school, were told they lacked talent, or were fired more than once — yet each found a method that unlocked exceptional achievement. Rod Judkins moves through the stories of artists, entrepreneurs, architects and innovators, including Frida Kahlo, Steve Jobs and Zaha Hadid, to show how creative breakthroughs really happen. Rather than waiting for inspiration to strike, Judkins argues that brilliant work is the product of deliberate habits: taking risks, thinking independently, learning from setbacks and refusing to settle for "good enough". Each chapter distils a practical lesson readers can apply immediately, whether in a creative career, a business, or a personal project. Following the phenomenal success of The Art of Creative Thinking, translated into fifteen languages, this book brings the same accessible, story-driven style to a sharper focus on turning ideas into finished, brilliant work. It's for anyone who has ever felt stuck or unsure, and wants concrete steps rather than vague encouragement.
