Overview
Step inside the brutal, glamorous world of the American Mafia with this four-book paperback collection from Mario Puzo, the author who defined the modern crime saga. Bringing together The Godfather, The Sicilian, The Last Don and Omerta, this set traces organised crime across generations, continents and codes of honour. From the Corleone family's rise in 1940s New York to a Mafia dynasty's final reckoning, these are the definitive novels of loyalty, betrayal and power that inspired one of cinema's greatest trilogies.
About the Books
The Godfather is the novel that started it all: a searing portrait of the Corleone family and the hidden world of the American Mafia, still shocking readers decades on. The Sicilian follows Michael Corleone's exile, sent by his father to track down the outlaw Salvatore Giuliano through a landscape of treachery in postwar Sicily. The Last Don turns to the Clericuzio family, following ageing patriarch Domenico Clericuzio as he tries to steer his grandchildren toward a legitimate future in Hollywood and Las Vegas, only for old secrets to reignite a deadly family war. Omerta closes the collection with the Sicilian code of silence at its heart, following the assassination of a New York mob boss and the parallel investigations of his nephew and the FBI, as greed erodes the old rules of honour. Together, the four novels span the full arc of Puzo's Mafia storytelling, offering a complete, immersive journey through his most famous fictional world, with recurring themes of family, power and loyalty running throughout. This set is ideal for newcomers wanting the essential Puzo library in one purchase, and for fans wanting a uniform paperback edition for their shelves.
About the Author
Mario Puzo (1920–1999) was an American author and screenwriter best known for The Godfather (1969), which he later co-adapted into Francis Ford Coppola's acclaimed film trilogy, winning the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 1972 and 1974. Born in New York to Italian immigrant parents, Puzo drew on his heritage to create some of fiction's most enduring stories of the Mafia. He went on to write further bestsellers including The Sicilian, The Last Don and Omerta, cementing his reputation as the definitive chronicler of organised crime in American fiction.
