About the Author
Tove Jansson was a Finland-Swedish author, novelist, painter, illustrator and comic strip artist. Brought up by artistic parents, she studied art in Helsinki, Stockholm and Paris between 1930 and 1938, holding her first solo exhibition in 1943. She went on to create the Moomin series of novels and picture books, alongside a long-running comic strip, becoming one of the most cherished children's authors of the twentieth century. Her work continues to be loved by readers of all ages around the world.
