About the Author
Rod Campbell was born in Scotland in 1945 and brought up in Zimbabwe before returning to Britain, where he completed a doctorate in organic chemistry. In 1980 he moved into children's publishing, designing innovative books with interactive elements and repetitive phrases. In 1987 he founded Campbell Blackie Books, which became Campbell Books in 1989 and was later acquired by Macmillan Publishers in 1995. He is best known for creating the enduring lift-the-flap classic Dear Zoo, alongside many other beloved novelty titles for young children.
