Overview
Britain's most fiendishly difficult TV quiz returns in book form. Only Connect: The Difficult Second Quiz Book delivers 200 brand-new, brain-busting questions crafted by the show's own question-setter, packed with killer connections, sequences and walls. Whether you're a devoted fan of the BBC2 series or simply love a proper mental workout, this paperback promises hours of challenging, addictive fun for solo puzzlers or competitive quiz nights with friends and family.

About the Book
Following the huge success of the first Only Connect quiz book, question-setter and former champion Jack Waley-Cohen returns with an entirely new collection of 200 cryptic questions, many of which have never been broadcast and several created exclusively for this book. The questions are organised into a series of discrete four-round games, with difficulty increasing as you progress, mirroring the format of the show as you attempt to reach your own grand final. Expect the same lateral-thinking connections, sequences and infamous "walls" that have made the television series a cult favourite, alongside plenty of trivia asking which questions have been the greatest in the show's history and which teams rank as the best of all time. An introduction from presenter Victoria Coren Mitchell adds extra insight and personality to the collection. It's the closest thing to having your own private series of Only Connect at home, ideal for testing yourself alone or pitting your wits against friends and family in a genuinely tough head-to-head. Fans of general knowledge, wordplay and pattern-spotting will find this an enormously satisfying and often humbling read, with questions spanning history, science, literature, popular culture and beyond.

About the Author
Jack Waley-Cohen first appeared on Only Connect in its very first episode, reaching the final with his team, the Lapsed Psychologists. He began writing questions for the show in 2014 and, in 2017, became Question Editor alongside colleague David McGaughey. Outside of quizzing, he runs several businesses, including a professional quiz company, drawing on years of experience crafting the show's notoriously tricky puzzles to bring readers a fresh and faithful book experience.

Why You'll Love This Quiz Book
If you've ever shouted answers at the television during Only Connect, this book lets you finally test yourself properly. Fiendish, funny and endlessly replayable, it's a brilliant gift for trivia lovers and puzzle fans alike.
