Overview
Discover the whole of Paddington's earliest and best-loved adventures in one delightful ten-book paperback set. From the moment he is found on a London railway platform with a label reading "Please look after this bear", Paddington charms his way into hearts everywhere. This collection gathers ten classic Michael Bond titles, following the accident-prone but endearing bear from Darkest Peru as he settles into life with the Brown family, blending gentle humour, warmth and old-fashioned adventure for readers aged 6 to 8 and beyond.
About the Books
This ten-book paperback set brings together the original Paddington novels that have delighted generations of readers since 1958. Beginning with A Bear Called Paddington, the collection charts the bear's arrival in London and his gradual integration into the Brown household on Windsor Gardens. Across the following stories — More About Paddington, Paddington Helps Out, Paddington Abroad, Paddington At Large, Paddington Marches On, Paddington at Work, Paddington Goes To Town, Paddington Takes the Air and Paddington on Top — young readers follow Paddington through school outings, seaside holidays, new jobs and countless well-meaning mishaps. Each short chapter is written with warmth and gentle comic timing, ideal for reading aloud or for children building confidence as independent readers. Michael Bond's storytelling, paired with the character's recognisable duffel coat and battered suitcase, has made Paddington one of Britain's most enduring literary exports, later inspiring hit films and TV series. This set offers a chronological introduction to the character's classic adventures, ideal for family bookshelves or a first chapter-book series.
About the Author
Michael Bond was born in Newbury, Berkshire, in 1926 and educated at Presentation College, Reading. Michael Bond passed away in 2017, leaving behind one of the most cherished literary legacies in children's publishing.
