About the Author
Michael Bond (1926-2017) was a much-loved British author best known for creating Paddington Bear, first introduced in "A Bear Called Paddington" in 1958. Inspired by a lone teddy bear he spotted on a London shop shelf on Christmas Eve, Bond went on to write dozens of Paddington books that have been translated into more than 40 languages and sold millions of copies worldwide, making Paddington one of the most enduring characters in children's literature.
