Overview
Step back to the war-weary streets of 1940s Gosport with this heartfelt two-book collection from bestselling saga author Rosie Archer. Following usherette Connie Baxter through friendship, heartbreak and the glamour of the silver screen, The Picture House Girls and I'll Be Seeing You capture the resilience of ordinary women living through extraordinary times. Perfect for fans of nostalgic wartime romance, this set is a must-have for readers who love family sagas set against a richly evoked historical backdrop.

About the Books
In The Picture House Girls, newly orphaned Connie Baxter moves in with her Aunt Gertie and lands a job as an usherette at the Criterion Picture House in Gosport. Amid the glamour of the movies, Connie must contend with a manager whose wandering hands cause trouble, but finds a loyal friend in ice-cream seller Queenie and an intriguing distraction in charming taxi-dancer Tommo Smith. The story is full of warmth, humour and the everyday dramas of women finding their feet during wartime.

The sequel, I'll Be Seeing You, returns to 1943 as the war drags on along England's south coast. Connie now appears to have it all — a devoted man in Ace, an enviable social life despite rationing, friends, and a job she loves. But appearances deceive, and when her rival Cousin Marlene returns home, long-buried secrets and jealousies threaten to unravel everything Connie has built, forcing her to see Ace in a very different light. Together, these two novels form a moving, character-driven portrait of love, loyalty and survival on the home front.
