Overview
Step onto Planet Omar with this brilliant three-book paperback collection from bestselling author Zanib Mian. Packed with laugh-out-loud diary-style storytelling and vibrant cartoon illustrations, these books follow a hugely imaginative young boy as he navigates new schools, new friendships and a few outlandish adventures along the way. A warm, funny and wonderfully diverse series, perfect for growing readers who love Tom Gates and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
About the Books
In Accidental Trouble Magnet, Omar's parents decide to move house and switch schools all in one go, leaving him to face a new school, a fierce class bully, and the small matter of staying out of trouble at home before Eid arrives. In Unexpected Super Spy, Omar and his friends have been saving their pocket money for the ultimate Nerf Blaster battle, but when they discover their local mosque needs urgent funds, they put their savings — and their spy skills — to a much better use, from chores to cookie sales to a school talent contest. Finally, in Incredible Rescue Mission, Omar returns from the school holidays to find his favourite teacher has been swapped for someone far grumpier. Convinced something sinister is afoot, Omar becomes certain that aliens must be responsible, and he and his friends set out on a daring rescue mission with a very surprising outcome. Told through Omar's hilarious diary entries and brought to life with charming cartoon illustrations, the collection captures the joys and giggles of family life with warmth and heart, while touching on friendship, community and belonging — themes that helped the series win the Little Rebels Award and earn Carnegie Medal recognition.
