Overview
Princess Mirror-Belle and Snow White is a sparkling, funny short story from bestselling author Julia Donaldson, brought to life with charming black-and-white illustrations by Lydia Monks. Originally created as a special World Book Day title, this quick-read paperback is perfect for children who are beginning to read independently. When Ellen's cheeky mirror-image princess pops out to "help" with the school pantomime, chaos and comedy are guaranteed for young Snow White fans everywhere.
About the Book
Ellen gets the shock of her life when her reflection steps straight out of the bathroom mirror. But this is no ordinary double — she's Mirror-Belle, a self-proclaimed princess with a wildly overactive imagination and a talent for turning everyday life upside down. In this instalment of the much-loved Princess Mirror-Belle series, Mirror-Belle decides to get involved in the local school pantomime of Snow White, and naturally, nothing goes quite to plan. With her outrageous stories, bossy charm and knack for mischief, Mirror-Belle takes the production hilariously off script, leaving Ellen to deal with the fallout. Written in Julia Donaldson's trademark witty, warm style and paired with Lydia Monks's expressive black-and-white line illustrations throughout, this is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud story ideal for newly confident readers. At just 64 pages, it strikes the perfect balance between an engaging plot and manageable text for children stepping up from picture books to short chapter books. Fans of fairy tale retellings, princess stories with a twist, and the Donaldson-Monks partnership (also behind Princess Mirror-Belle and the Party Hoppers) will find this a delightful, giggle-inducing addition to their bookshelf or classroom reading corner.
