About the Author
Nancy Mitford (1904–1973) was an English novelist and biographer, the eldest of the six famous Mitford sisters and a prominent figure among London's "Bright Young People" in the interwar years. Drawing heavily on her own unconventional aristocratic family, she wrote a celebrated sequence of comic novels about upper-class English and French life, including The Pursuit of Love, Love in a Cold Climate and Don't Tell Alfred.
