Overview

Spanning 1939 to peacetime, Rosie Archer's beloved series blends music, romance, hardship and unbreakable friendship. This brand-new paperback set is ideal for saga readers, gift buyers and anyone who loves character-driven historical fiction set against the drama of the Second World War home front.
About the Books
The Bluebird Girls opens in Hampshire, 1939, as Rainey Bird, Ivy Sparrow and Bea Herron discover a shared talent for singing in their local choir. When war breaks out and a mysterious stranger offers them a life-changing opportunity, the trio must decide whether to chase stardom while the world around them changes forever. We'll Meet Again carries the girls into 1941, moving from working men's clubs towards the glittering promise of the Savoy Hotel, even as bombs fall on the south coast. In The Forces' Sweethearts, set in 1943, the now-famous trio tour with ENSA, entertaining troops at army bases and boosting morale through long hours, cramped travel and constant uncertainty. The saga concludes with Victory for the Bluebird Girls, as peace finally arrives and the women look back on fame, loss and love while facing an uncertain post-war future. Throughout the four books, Rosie Archer weaves authentic period detail, drawing on her own Gosport roots to bring 1940s Hampshire vividly to life. Readers who enjoy Dilly Court, Annie Groves or Daisy Styles will find much to love in this warm, resilient and thoroughly researched wartime saga, following one trio of friends from their very first note to their final curtain call.
