Overview
This two-book collection brings together two of the most loved memoirs in ultrarunning: Vassos Alexander's Running Up That Hill and Scott Jurek's Eat and Run. Both brand new paperbacks, the set pairs British broadcaster Alexander's witty, self-deprecating account of chasing ultra-distances with elite champion Jurek's story of plant-powered endurance and record-breaking trail success. Together they offer humour, honesty and genuine insight into what drives people to run further than seems humanly possible.

About the Books
Running Up That Hill follows sports presenter Vassos Alexander as he becomes hooked on the strange joys of ultra-distance running. From running an ultramarathon in Paris backwards after missing the start, to tackling one of the world's toughest mountain races in Wales with a badly sprained ankle, and finally attempting the brutal 153-mile Spartathlon, Alexander recounts his exploits with warmth, humour and honesty. Along the way he draws on the wisdom of ultrarunning legends including Scott Jurek, Jasmin Paris and Kilian Jornet.

Eat and Run tells the remarkable story of Scott Jurek, one of the most dominant ultrarunners of his generation. From a modest Midwestern upbringing to becoming a seven-time winner of the legendary Western States 100, Jurek's memoir traces his transformation through relentless training, mental toughness and a plant-based diet that powered him to record-breaking finishes. Co-written with journalist Steve Friedman, the book blends race narrative with nutrition insight and original recipes.
