A lovely introduction to Ruth Hogan's storytelling, and a great gift for fans wanting their own complete paperback set.
About the Books
The Keeper of Lost Things follows Anthony Peardew, a once-celebrated author of short stories who has spent decades collecting objects lost by strangers, hoping to atone for a broken promise. Realising time is running out, he leaves his house — and its treasury of lost things — to his loyal assistant Laura, setting her on a journey of discovery and romance. The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes introduces Masha, once a spirited, independent woman, whose life changed after a tragedy twelve years earlier. Unable to let go of her grief, she finds comfort in her devoted dog Haizum and the peaceful lanes around her local lido, until a chance encounter offers a way back towards hope. Queenie Malone's Paradise Hotel introduces Tilly, a bright, outgoing girl who loves fizzy drinks, fish fingers and playing with ghosts. Growing up in Queenie Malone's Brighton hotel among an endearing family of misfits, Tilly's story moves between her joyful childhood and the secrets of her adult life, unravelling why she was parted from those she loved most. Together, these three novels showcase Ruth Hogan's blend of gentle humour, poignant emotion and richly drawn characters.
