Overview
Salamandastron is the fifth adventure in Brian Jacques's beloved Redwall saga, a brand-new paperback edition perfect for fans of epic animal fantasy. While Redwall Abbey basks in peaceful summer sun, the mountain fortress of Salamandastron faces a deadly siege, and a hidden illness creeps towards the Abbey itself. Packed with courage, camaraderie, and classic Jacques storytelling, this is an essential addition to any young reader's bookshelf or a growing Redwall collection.
About the Book
As Redwall Abbey slumbers through a peaceful summer, danger brews on two fronts. The mountain stronghold of Salamandastron lies besieged by the weasel army of Ferahgo the Assassin, while the deadly Dryditch fever silently creeps towards the unsuspecting Abbey. Guided by the sword of Martin the Warrior, brave companions Samkin and Arula set out from Redwall, journeying over forest, swamp, and treacherous waters in a desperate bid to save Salamandastron from falling into the hands of evil. Brian Jacques masterfully weaves two parallel storylines together, building tension and heart in equal measure as heroic woodlanders face overwhelming odds. Fans of the Redwall series will recognise the hallmarks that made the saga so beloved: richly drawn characters, moral courage, feasting and friendship, and battles that test the very soul of Mossflower Wood's creatures. Fifth in the series chronologically by publication, Salamandastron stands strong as a self-contained tale while deepening the wider Redwall mythology. This new paperback edition, published by Red Fox, brings the story to a fresh generation of readers in a durable, pocket-friendly format ideal for school bags, bedtime reading, and classroom shelves alike.
