Overview
Every Sherlock Holmes short story Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ever wrote is gathered here in a single, generously proportioned paperback volume. From the fog-wrapped streets of Baker Street to the drawing rooms of the aristocracy, this compendium follows the world's most famous consulting detective through all 56 cases, alongside his loyal companion Dr. Watson. It's the definitive way to own the complete Holmes short-story canon in one place.

About the Book
First serialised in The Strand Magazine between 1891 and 1927, Holmes's short stories introduced readers to a detective whose powers of deduction have rarely been equalled in popular fiction. This edition gathers all five original collections — The Adventures, The Memoirs, The Return, His Last Bow, and The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes — in traditional reading order, across more than 2,200 pages. Each tale is a self-contained mystery, from the iconic "A Scandal in Bohemia" and "The Speckled Band" to later, more atmospheric cases like "The Sussex Vampire" and "Shoscombe Old Place". Conan Doyle's writing set the template for the modern detective story: a baffling crime, a seemingly impossible set of clues, and a triumphant unravelling through pure logic. Holmes's methods — reading a client's history from a sleeve or fingernails, reconstructing a crime from a footprint — remain as thrilling today as when they first captivated Victorian readers. Watson's warm narration balances Holmes's cool rationality, giving the stories their enduring charm. This edition suits newcomers wanting to start the canon from the beginning, and long-time fans who want every story bound together in one place, without hunting down separate volumes.

  • All 56 official Sherlock Holmes short stories in one complete paperback volume
  • Presented in traditional publication order across all five original collections
  • A brand-new UK paperback edition, perfect for collectors and first-time readers alike
  • Ideal gift for fans of classic crime, mystery, and detective fiction
  • Ready reference for book clubs, students, and literature courses
  • A timeless addition to any home library

About the Author
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930) was born in Edinburgh and trained as a doctor at Edinburgh University, where his tutor's diagnostic skill helped inspire Sherlock Holmes's methods of deduction. Beyond the Holmes stories, Conan Doyle wrote historical novels, science fiction and non-fiction, but it is his detective creation that made him one of the most widely read authors in the English language, with Holmes and Watson adapted for stage, film and television across the world ever since.

Why You'll Love This Collection
One volume, every case: no more piecing together separate Holmes books. Whether you're revisiting an old favourite or meeting the detective for the first time, this complete short-story edition delivers Victorian mystery at its very best.
