Overview
Simply Raymond: Recipes from Home is Raymond Blanc's heartfelt collection of home-cooked recipes, born from lockdown and inspired by his mother, Maman Blanc. Featuring the dishes seen on his ITV series, this Sunday Times bestselling hardback offers approachable, French-inspired cooking using everyday ingredients and basic kitchen equipment, perfect for home cooks who want restaurant-quality flavour without the fuss or complexity of fine dining technique.
About the Book
When the world changed overnight, Raymond Blanc found himself isolated from family and from the army of chefs at his world-renowned two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons. Cut off from the kitchens he knew so well, he turned instead to simple, comforting cooking at home - the kind of food that evoked happy memories and kept him connected to the people he couldn't be with. Simply Raymond gathers these recipes together for the first time: honest, unfussy dishes using easily available ingredients, requiring nothing more elaborate than a good pan and a willing appetite. Recipes include Cod Cassoulet with Chorizo and Mixed Beans, A Quick Ratatouille, Cauliflower and Red Lentil Dhal, White Onion Soup, Beetroot Salad with Hot Smoked Salmon, Salade Nicoise, Tartiflette and Strawberry and Mascarpone Tart, alongside many more stove-side journeys through Raymond's culinary memory. There is real poignancy here too - shortly before finishing the book, Raymond's mother passed away, and the collection stands as a loving tribute to her and to a lifetime spent cooking simply for the people he loves. Featuring recipes from his ITV series Simply Raymond Blanc, this beautifully photographed hardback captures a much-loved chef at his most personal and generous, sharing food that is genuinely achievable in any home kitchen.
