About the Author
Lynley Dodd is an award-winning New Zealand author and illustrator, best known for creating the phenomenally popular Hairy Maclary and Friends series, home to Slinky Malinki and a host of memorable animal characters. Trained in fine art at Auckland's Elam School of Art, she worked as a teacher and freelance illustrator before turning to writing her own picture books in the 1970s. Her rhythmic, playful storytelling and richly characterised illustrations have made her one of the best-loved children's authors in the world, cherished by generations of young readers.
