Overview
Son of Escobar: First Born is the extraordinary true memoir of Roberto Sendoya Escobar, the first-born son of Pablo Escobar, the most notorious drug lord in history. Rescued as a baby from a bloody shoot-out and secretly adopted by the MI6 agent who led the raid, Roberto grew up unaware of his birth father's identity. This gripping hardback account of survival, deception and self-discovery is essential reading for true crime and biography fans.

About the Book
Pablo Escobar became one of the ten richest men on the planet, controlling around 80 per cent of the global cocaine trade before he was shot dead in 1993. Long before that infamy, in 1965, a secret mission by Colombian Special Forces, led by a British MI6 agent, was launched to recover a stolen cash hoard from a safe house used by the young Escobar. The raid ended in a violent shoot-out that left many dead, and Escobar and several of his men escaped into the night. The only survivor left behind was a baby boy, Roberto Sendoya Escobar. In a remarkable twist of fate, the MI6 agent who led the mission took pity on the infant, brought him home, and raised him as his own, keeping his true parentage a closely guarded secret. Son of Escobar: First Born traces Roberto's unusual upbringing as an English public schoolboy, his slow, unsettling discovery of who his real father was, and the danger that knowledge brought into his adult life. Told with candour and emotional honesty, this hardback memoir blends personal history with the wider, chilling story of the Medellín Cartel, offering readers a rare, deeply human perspective on one of the twentieth century's most infamous criminal dynasties.

  • A genuine, first-hand true crime memoir - not a dramatisation
  • Unique insider perspective on the Escobar family and the Medellín Cartel
  • Compelling narrative blending espionage, family secrets and survival
  • Sturdy brand-new hardback, ideal for gifting or collecting
  • Perfect for readers of true crime, biography and 20th-century history
