Overview
Welcome to Acorn Wood! This charming five-book board book collection brings together five of Julia Donaldson's best-loved lift-the-flap tales, illustrated throughout by Axel Scheffler. With sturdy, chunky flaps on every spread and joyful rhyming text designed to be read aloud again and again, this set is a wonderful introduction to storytime for toddlers and an ideal gift for any young animal lover starting their reading journey.

About the Books
Each story is set in the gentle woodland world of Acorn Wood, where a cast of endearing animal friends get up to all sorts of mischief. In Cat's Cookbook, Cat wants to learn to cook and heads to the Acorn Library to find a recipe book, lifting flaps along the way. Squirrel's Snowman follows Squirrel and her friends as they try to build the perfect snowman. In Mole's Spectacles, poor Mole has lost his glasses and searches everywhere, from his garden to Weasel's sweetshop. Badger's Band sees Badger gathering his friends to form a band, with Tortoise on trumpet and Bear on piano, building to a special concert. Finally, Dormouse Has a Cold follows sniffly Dormouse as Doctor Stoat and her caring friends help her feel better. Each book features Julia Donaldson's trademark rhyming verse, paired with Axel Scheffler's warm, detailed illustrations. The sturdy board book format and lift-the-flap surprises make these books perfect for little hands, encouraging interaction and a love of stories from an early age. Together, these five titles form a treasured addition to the bestselling Tales from Acorn Wood series, delighting families for over twenty years.
